The Johnson Controls Ice Rink, HVAC Chill Hill and AutoTrader.com Speedway In Lights Powered by TVA are closed for the season. On behalf of everyone here at Bristol Motor Speedway and the Bristol Chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities, we offer a tremendous THANK YOU!

We hope you enjoyed our events throughout the holidays. And while we hope you had a fun and enjoyable experience, we want you to know that the proceeds from these events and generated by you, will go a long way to helping a significant number of children throughout the region surrounding Bristol Motor Speedway.

We look forward to seeing you again when our holiday attractions return in November.

Speedway’s holiday attraction season coming to a close

With Christmas and New Year’s Day in the rearview mirror, Bristol Motor Speedway and the Bristol Chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities enter the final weekend of offering up its season of Winter time fun.

While AutoTrader.com Speedway In Lights closed on January 2, the Johnson Controls Ice Rink and HVAC Chill Hill remain open through January 10.

We invite you to come out and join the fun as we close out the season.

On Friday (Jan. 8), the Ice Rink and Chill will be open 4 pm until 10 pm. On Saturday and Sunday (Jan. 9, 10), the attractions are open from 2 pm to 10 pm.

Admission to the Johnson Controls Ice Rink is $5. Skate rental is an additional $2. Chill Hill pricing is $7 for 50 minutes of riding.

Proceeds from these attractions benefit the Bristol Chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities.

Win UT Men’s, Women’s Basketball Tickets To Be given Away Wednesday During Ice Rink’s UT Night

There is no shortage of University of Tennessee fans in Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia. And skaters who want to show their Volunteer spirit can make that pay off at the Johnson Controls Ice Rink at Bristol Motor Speedway Jan. 6.

Anyone who shows their support by wearing Tennessee orange and white receives a free skate rental that evening.

UT fans can win a pair of tickets to the March 3 Vols-Arkansas men’s basketball game at Thompson-Boling Arena, or two tickets to see the Lady Vols at a home game of the winner’s choice. After registering at the rink on UT Night, fans do not have to be present to win either prize featuring the two nationally ranked programs.

Other giveaways include t-shirts, hats, magnets and posters.

The rink is open from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday. Friday hours are 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., and on Saturday and Sunday the rink is open from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. The rink is closed for maintenance on Mondays. The cost to skate is $5, plus an additional $2 for skate rental.

The rink is covered and is located at the Speedway’s north entrance just off Hwy. 11E (Volunteer Parkway) near the elevator tower displaying the large “Bristol” signage.

Speedway In Lights, Ice Rink & Chill Open; Normal Schedule Resumes

After two days of being closed due to winter weather experienced on Friday, Bristol Motor Speedway’s AutoTrader.com Speedway In Lights, the Johnson Controls Ice Rink and HVAC Chill Hill resume their normal schedule today (Sunday, Dec. 20, 2009).

Fun begins at the Ice Rink and Chill at 2 pm, while Speedway In Lights opens at 6 pm.

12 Days of Christmas offers visitors to Speedway In Lights the chance to win Bristol Season Tickets

For race fans, the perfect Christmas gift would be tickets to a NASCAR race at Bristol Motor Speedway. But how spectacular would that present be if it included ALL the races at the World’s Fastest Half-Mile?

IRWIN® Tools is helping visitors to Autotrader.com Speedway In Lights Powered by TVA build the ultimate Christmas gift for fans – season tickets to all NASCAR events at BMS in 2010. During the Speedway in Lights version of the12 Days of Christmas, beginning Dec. 14 and ending Dec. 25, guests may enter each night to win two sets of season tickets, along with parking, pit passes and tool bags full of IRWIN products. Winners will be notified the following day.

The season tickets include grandstand seats at both Sprint Cup races, the Food City 500 (March 21) and the IRWIN Tools Night Race (Aug. 21), as well as the Nationwide races, the Scotts Turf Builder 300 (March 20) and the Food City 250 (Aug. 20), the Camping World Truck Series race, the O’Reilly 200 (Aug. 18), and Ford Fan Friday qualifying (March 19).

But that’s not all. Winners will receive two highly-sought-after cold pit passes for both Sprint Cup events, as well as an on-property parking pass, a $25 gift certificate to Speedway World, the souvenir store at BMS, and the IRWIN tool bags.

Visitors to the Johnson Controls Ice Rink and the HVAC Chill Hill Tube Slide also may register for the 12 Days of Christmas drawing. Separate registration boxes will be placed at the ice rink, tube slide and at the souvenir stand in Subway Christmas Village at Autotrader.com Speedway In Lights.

Upon arrival at Speedway In Lights ticket booth, visitors will be given an entry form. Entry forms also may be picked up at both the ice rink and tube slide.

WCYB News 5 Night, this evening at Speedway In Lights

Visitors to Autotrader.com Speedway In Lights Powered by TVA this Thursday evening, Dec. 10, will enjoy a special treat as it will be News5Night at the holiday light show at Bristol Motor Speedway. WCYB has teamed up with one of the largest holiday light shows in the country, to bring its on-air news team to Subway Christmas Village in the infield at BMS Thursday evening.

Members of the news team will greet visitors between 6:30 and 9 p.m. Johnny Wood, Steve Hawkins, Ann Carter, Dave Dierks, Jordan Conigliaro, Garick Zikan, Tarah Taylor, Marcus Lynch, Preston Ayers, Leah Rubertino and Sherrie Evans will be present at varying intervals to meet viewers and sign autographs.

Visitors to Speedway In Lights that evening are encouraged to bring their cameras for photo opportunities with the News5 Team who will be located inside Christmas Village in the building beside Santa’s Hut.

Subway Christmas Village adds special touch to Speedway In Lights

Subway Christmas Village certainly adds holiday flavor to your drive through the lights with plenty of family fun.

While the 4-plus miles of lights and displays along the drive-through route are spectacular, the stop in the Subway Christmas Village in the infield after taking a lap on the .533-mile oval is equally exciting. Santa himself is there and available for photos and presiding over plenty of fun, like marshmallow roasting and a half-dozen carnival rides.

Along with the rides, a number of food vendors offer great holiday treats like kettle corn and hot chocolate. And if there is holiday shopping to be done, spectators are in luck as several craft merchants provide unique gift selections.
